This Fall..

I think that this fall we're going to see a lot of neon's, hardware, and black and gray. This is what I have mostly seen around in stores and in a lot of catalogs. I also just got a Bloomingdale's little pamphlet thing about the makeup trends, and the smokey eye and neon eyeshadow are the new makeup looks for fall too. So this is what I think is going to be the most popular thing this fall. But what I also think is that because of the style predictions that magazines give it kind of "makes" people believe its true and then they go by that. Basically, their "predictions" are just a pathway for people to follow. They tell you what to wear. But that doesn't mean the trends aren't really cute and stylish. Ha ha, I'm such a hypocrite.

TheOutNet.com - Check it out!

This website is amazing! you wouldn't believe the constant sales and discounts on designer brands. It's owned by Net-A-Porter.com which for those of you who don't know what that is, it's a huge designer and brand name clothing and accessories. TheOutNet.com is basically the same exact thing; Same stuff, same brands, same original prices. The only thing that is different is that the stuff becoms so much cheaper! Almost everything is on sale, and not some wimpy 10-15% off sale, i'm talking about 30-80% off sales. And thats not all, they have pop up sales and going going gone sales. A pop up sale is when there is a group of items and they give you some sort of countdown or date and time of when they will go on sale, the sale doesnt last for that long though, so you have to try and find something you like pretty quick. These sales are usually up to 85% off. Then there are going going gone sales. These sales also have a countdown and a set time. But, there is one item (A clutch, a belt, a dress) anything really and there is only a certain amount of it. At the time (lets say 10:00 eastern time) the price starts dropping from its a origional price, you have to have awesome timing because if you are waiting until the price is really low someone could snag the last one and then you wouldnt get anything. But if you dont wait long enough and buy it when its still pretty high your price is locked in and you cant buy anymore. If these descriptions confuse you, you can go to TheOutNet.com and read more.

Parisians: Great Taste or No Taste?

After being in Europe for a week, Paris for three days, I realize Parisians really don't have a great sense of style. The occasional great-taste and well-dressed Parisian is accepted. But overall, it was pretty horrendous. No offense to anyone who does not agree with me or is just offended. This was meant to share my opinion and I apologize if this offends you. On the other hand, Parisians do have great bags, I have to admit, I saw some really cute bags. (two of which are hanging on my desk chair right now, haha)

Comments, questions....?

Trends

Many trends linger from brand to brand. But how do we really know who started it or whose idea it was? Most of these trends did not actually come from designer brands which we see almost everywhere we go. They are trends that either came back from an earlier decade, or they are the type of clothes that people in other countries wear. So next time you see a beaded tunic or maxi dress, etc. that you would insistantly think was a total copy of your favorite designer, think again. Yes, maybe it is a sort of copy of your favorite designer, but, your favorite designer copied the beading off of an African dress that he/she saw when they visited Africa.
The real question is, which designer's version is the best? (This is an opinion NOT a fact)-I love this trend. I think it is one of those things you can make a statement in without having big bold colors or prints. I think the best example of this is the T-Bags dress. You'd think a black in white dress would be extremely plain or basic. Not this one! the black trim really makes the ruffles stand out. I also like the other dresses but definately not as much as the T-bags one.
I don't know if this one can be considered a trend, but it can be. When you hear the word "tee" you think of a big shirt you wear to bed. Not anymore! These tee's are definately not for sleeping in. My favorite one here is the Tory Burch. It is a 400th Annivarsary tee for New york. It looks a bit orange but it is red, and supposed to be an apple. I think it's really clever, the logo inside the apple. Then I also like the color combo on the Marc Jacobs one. The Stella McCartney one, well I like the print but it's too baggy. It should be fitted.
You don't always notice geometric prints. You may notice them as a print, but a lot of basic prints are geometric. For example polka dots, strips, etc. The geometrics aren't basic and boring. They are complicating and sometimes even mind tricks. My favorite here is the Marc Jacobs. I love both the shillouhette and the pattern. It is also one of the prints that can be interpreted many ways. One person may think it looks like confetti and another person may think it looks like an ocean with melting chunks of ice. Then again, I like both of the others. I like the print on the Tory Burch one. But not so much the basic shape of the shirt. Then, I love the basic shape of the Michael Kors one, but I am not in love with the pattern.
